Founder Carl A. Nielbock was born in Celle, Germany, and learned the metal crafting trade through formal training as a blacksmith. The development of his talents was inspired by an early appreciation for the fine detail and ornamentation that typifies European architecture. Nielbock moved to Detroit in 1984 and started his own metal workshop on the city's east side. Since then, with the growth of his business, Carlos has been able to keep the dream alive regarding cultural and historical preservation of fine arts, and heritage.
