The Historic Fort Street Bridge in Dearborn, Michigan, once a vital link between Detroit’s industrial core and the Rouge River industrial complex, played a significant role in the city’s automotive and labor history, particularly in connection to Henry Ford and the 1932 Ford Hunger March.
Decommissioned in 2013, the bridge’s salvaged steel was repurposed into custom contemporary sculptures by Detroit master craftsman Carlos Nielbock, who upcycled original bridge components into striking, large-scale works of industrial art.
The Spirit of Detroit Miniatures is a limited-edition bronze sculpture inspired by Marshall Fredericks' iconic "The Spirit of Detroit."
These replicas measure approximately 18 inches wide, 12 inches tall, and weigh about 18 pounds. Each piece features the statue's signature green patina, achieved through traditional bronze casting techniques.
